The Bucket List Tree – From Canvas to Wall

In July, I stepped out of my comfort zone and into something completely new: painting my very first mural. And not just any mural—this was a 5-meter by 2.5-meter wall transformed into an abstract birch-like tree, designed to hold memories, dreams, and moments yet to come.

Yes, happy socks are important 😊

The tree became the heart of a “Bucket List” project. My client wanted to hang 100 ideas—some already lived, some still waiting—from its branches. Completed dreams were represented by personal photographs taken in those exact places; future dreams by placeholders. The mural would be both art and a living map of a life in motion.

The Bucket List Tree – Full View

Technically, it was a challenge. Unlike canvas, the wall couldn’t be tilted to prevent paint from running, so I had to adjust consistency with precision. I worked in five distinct layers:

  1. A removable watercolor sketch for orientation
  2. A grey acrylic background
  3. An imperfect white layer for the birch bark, letting grey peek through
  4. Tones of orange, deep grey, and beige for depth and texture
  5. And finally, delicate strokes of gold leaf—where sunlight might kiss the bark

It was a dance between stepping back for the big picture and leaning in for the tiniest detail. The wall’s own texture became part of the story, and yes—so did the ladder, my constant companion throughout the process.

Now the tree stands complete, its branches filled with laughter, travels, and dreams in progress. It’s more than a mural—it’s a growing, changing piece of someone’s personal journey.

Bonus insight: these were the initial proposals for a Bucket List Wall:

  2. Cute Calligraphy Text
  3. World Map
  4. Hanging Photos

Open Heart

With Valentine’s Day and Dragobete (a Romanian celebration of love and spring) just a month away, I’ve prepared a series of artworks inspired by the theme of love. My inspiration came from a famous couple who proudly shared that they buy their child a painting every year for his birthday. Their reasoning? What could be more meaningful than giving the gift of art to someone special? And they’re absolutely right! I love this idea of doing the same for our life partners.

The Open Heart Series is about the courage to keep your heart open—or to open it again—after heartbreak. It’s a gentle reminder that while heartbreak can make us wary, the world is still full of kind, loving souls who can restore our faith in connection. Love can be as beautiful as we dare to believe. Each painting captures this emotional journey: the fear of shutting down, the bravery it takes to trust again, and the magic that unfolds when we do. A heart that dares to bloom can become a firework of wild joy, a delicate garden of tenderness, or a peaceful wave of calm.

These pieces are created with acrylic paints, layered textures, and metallic accents, brought to life through a special palette technique. Each painting features the motto written along its side: “My safe place. My wildest adventure.”

Commission Work for YOU

I’m wrapping up this year with immense gratitude for everything that happened, everyone I met, and every little dream that came true. That’s why I want to share the story of two major commissions I received.

Commission no 1: A country for YOU

This is my largest artwork yet, aproximatively 1 x 1.6-meter acrylic painting. The canvas, symbolizes a flag, is divided into three sections, each representing a unique aspect of a country’s richness.

The first section depicts the landforms—mountains, plains, and hills—brought to life through bold textures and palette knife techniques. The second showcases the flora and fauna, using vibrant colors and layered brushwork to highlight the natural beauty. The final section celebrates cities and culture, blending abstract shapes and acrylic pencil details to capture the energy of urban life.

Commission no 2: Faith in YOU

After creating and selling a mini version of this piece a few years ago, I received a request to reimagine ‘Faith in YOU’ on a much larger scale. This artwork is a 1 x 1.2 m canvas crafted with mixed media, including acrylic paints, various texture pastes, and metallic leaf. It represents how faith radiates warmth and light, spreading into the cold corners of the world and touching all of humanity.

Sagrada Meets Fibonacci

Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Gaudi had collaborated with Fibonacci? Let me tell you something, in art, anything is possible!

This acrylic painting is a continuation of the “Sagrada” series, where the concept of stained glass and the way light filters through it takes center stage. However, this piece adds a unique twist by merging the Fibonacci spiral with the stained glass motif.

Sanctuary of Hidden Light

The first piece captures the magical charm of an exotic oasis, where intense blue waters touch dark brown stones. A layer of resin sparkles on the blue surface, making it look like real water. In this peaceful place, viewers are invited to explore the hidden beauty beneath.

My inspiration comes from exotic islands where women are much more in touch with their source and intuition than those living in the modern world.

The second painting offers a softer touch, with its cream and beige palette, revealing in the center an abstract representation of the femininity  through acrylic pouring. This piece speaks to the intimate, often unspoken aspects of our being, celebrating the acceptance of every part of ourselves. Together, these works whisper a powerful message of self-love and the unyielding strength found in vulnerability.
